Below are the five keys to maximizing your experience with acupuncture, herbs, or any therapeutic intervention.
1. Be an educated medical consumer always. Trust your capacity to learn about your health and body! If you are feeling like you need more information, ask ask ask away. Request of your health professional to educate you, it is the only way to learn about your body.
2. Remember that disease is dis-ease, disease stems from a lack of balance and physiological harmony. This imbalance over time can make a negative impact on your body and mind and should be addressed immediately.
3. Diet, exercise, and sleep. Keys to making whatever treatment you are using have a chance at helping you recover.
4. Stress is real. Stress can put pressure not only on your mind but on your blood vessels. Stress can have real effects from microtears in your blood vessels to nervous system shutdowns. stress is real! don’t forget it!
5. Decrease your medical risk by decreasing your risky behaviors such as smoking, poor eating habits, and lack of exercise. Decreasing your risk doesn’t mean you can’t live on the edge.
